Buddy Chat is designed for privacy. We do not collect, transmit, or store any user data.

What we don't collect

• We do not collect audio. Your microphone input is processed locally on your device for speech recognition.
• We do not collect transcripts. The text version of what you say is held only in your device's memory during the conversation, and is discarded when the conversation ends or the app is closed.
• We do not collect AI responses. The language model's replies are generated locally on your device.
• We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP addresses, or any other personal information.
• We do not use analytics, telemetry, crash reporters, or any third-party SDKs that collect data.

What the app does access

• Microphone: required for speech recognition. Audio is processed in real time on-device and is never recorded to disk or transmitted.
• Network: required only to download the language model file (~1.3 GB) on first launch. After the model is downloaded, the app works fully offline. Buddy Chat does not contact any server during normal use.
• Storage: the downloaded model and your in-progress conversation history are stored locally on your device. You can delete the model from the app's settings; you can delete the app to remove everything.

Children's privacy

Buddy Chat does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post a notice on buddychat.b12n.app. Because we don't collect data, there is no historical data to migrate or anonymise — policy changes are forward-looking only.
